no time, short post, sorry.

I’ve been busy with work. It’s fun to reinvent the wheel with a deadline of the new Fiscal Year that starts Tuesday. I might get everything done by then. We’ll see. It’s not the end of the world if I miss it by a day, but I like the challenge of meeting [...]

Regional linguistics.

Part of my passion for words and writing has come from something that I started doing when I was a kid.  I noticed a long time ago, that not only are there regional accents in the US, but it’s not just pronounciation and annunciation, the use of the language is different too.
I’ve been told many [...]

Normal, at least in one way…

I had my first 3 month cancer check last week and got the results of the CA125 blood test today.
Normal is anything under 35, the farther under, the better.
I scored a 2.
That’s the closest to normal that I believe I’ve ever been

Friday’s Feast

Appetizer
Given the choice, would you prefer to live in the country or in the city? Country, absolutely, no looking back. I’m so done with the city. Give me a place where I can watch the sunrise and be surrounded by peaceful nature and I’ll be a lot happier.

randomness

For a cat that didn’t interact much, I sure miss her. She was just always there. Feeding time is a lot different too. I guess I’ll get used to it.
Roomie had supper ready when I got home from work. He was extra sweet and sat and talked with me for longer than usual. He knows [...]

Grizzabella the glamour cat…

This was not so good of a day.
I spent most of the evening last night at the vet with my oldest cat Bella. We did some tests and the vet said she’d call today with results.
The results came back that it was a kidney problem, probably an infection. I took her back to [...]

Full Circle

I’ve been going through boxes of papers and mementos that were stored in the junk room that I called my office. I’m trying to get through all the crap that I’ve kept, most of it for no apparent reason, in an effort to move my home office into the bigger bedroom with only the things [...]

Undamaged Goods

There have been a few times in my life when I’ve either been told or felt like I’m damaged goods.   My mom, in an effort to get me to lose weight used to tell me I’d never find a man if I was fat.  She meant well.  I found a man. A few of [...]

The archaeological dig through my junk room

Due to a pinched nerve in my neck, I’ve spent the last two days trying to keep moving in an effort to keep the muscles in my cervical region from completely locking up on me. This is a departure from my normal post operative lay around and surf, watch tv, and rest up all weekend [...]

Randomness

1. Hey Pat!  I almost called you today when I got in the car and heard John Cougar (there was no Mellencamp back then) and wanted to plant a brain worm in your head… remember writing the lyrics in our Struggling Nation book?
2. Dr Update:  I’m almost not anemic anymore. I’m at 10.6 and 11-12 [...]
