I worked from home for the rest of the day. The network shut down again about 7 PM, so I guess that was as good of a quitting time as any.
My cat slept most of the afternoon. She’s still not energetic, but she’s following me from room to room. She smells like the vet so the other two are hissing at her if she gets too close. She has no interest in food, so I’m not worried about her getting into the others food. I’d worry that she wasn’t drinking anything except they pumped her pretty full of fluids this afternoon. She’s been in the litterbox a couple of times, so I think things are working, at least a little. Hopefully she’ll improve overnight, otherwise it’s another trip to the doc tomorrow.
I’ve decided on a dryer. Then I went to order it and it won’t be in stock at their warehouse for 3-4 weeks. They are in stock at the Sears at the mall though. Hopefully Roomie will be willing to drive over there with me and pick one up, or maybe I’ll have time to get one Wednesday instead of tires. If not, I’ll get a different model from Abt. They have a model that’s a little cheaper, and free delivery and set up, but they don’t have Kenmore. Decisions decisions.
I’m still debating on whether to get a bed with the foundation and legs or if I should just get the mattress and build or buy a platform with drawers under it. The goal is to get new bedroom furniture in the next year or so, and what I have picked out for that eventuality is one large dresser (I saw a really nice one that best friend and I both fell in love with), 2 smaller than what I have end tables, and a headboard, so I’ll need the underbed storage to replace the dresser that I’m planning on losing. Roomie is busy building other people’s furniture and that’s fine, it’s how he makes his living, so if I go with the platform idea, I’ll buy the lumber, have the store cut it, and just assemble it myself. I have mastered screwing things at right angles (ahem). I even understand the concept of bracing the corners. Beyond that is Roomie’s realm. What I’d make wouldn’t be very pretty, but that’s what bed skirts are for, right? . Or maybe I can find a king size platform on Craigslist or something. I found a really nice new oak one on line for $1000, but that negates the savings that I’ve been doing so I’m still investigating options for the bed.
My brain hurts and it’s snowing again… I just want to crawl into bed and stay there. I need some dinner first though.
