When I was little, nearly 40 years ago, there was this god awful nutrition drink called Tigers Milk. It was horrible. It’s the source for my absolute gag reflex on anything that’s liquid and/or gritty, and/or malt flavored. The can looked like this but bigger. Mom bought the 5 lb can. The can sat on [...]

Wednesday’s blood test results are in: Total Cholesterol 183 – anything under 200 is excellent Triglycerides 88 anything under 150 is excellent My HDL is 38. LDL is 120. It needs to be closer to 50 and 100 respectively, so the ratio is a little weak but Doc’s not worried about it. Overall numbers are [...]

Really, but I haven’t had much time/energy to write lately, so here’s a few random thoughts: I feel good. I started treadmilling on Sunday. Two days on, one day off. One mile a day to start with. I’ll up that as I feel ready to do more. For now a mile is enough. It doesn’t [...]

I’ve been thinking a lot lately, and I think that I’m going to take a lesson that I’ve learned along the way in the business world and apply it to my life. A while back, I met Bobby Rahal. He was speaking to the group that I was a part of about his personal philosophy [...]

I finally got a Wii Fit last week. I’ve been doing a few more things with it every day. This morning I unlocked the advanced step and the advanced slalom. I’ve tried a few Yoga moves, and it says that my balance and form is good. The strength moves scare me a little but I’ll [...]

Today I wore a pair of Jeans that three months ago were so tight I couldn’t wear them because they were too constricting on my sore kidney. I put them on this morning and noticed right away that they weren’t snug like they were then. By the time I got to work, they had loosened [...]

It’s been a really long week. I’m off the sleeping drug that was causing the depression, but the result of that is about 3 -4 hours of sleep a night. I was going to try and stick it out and let my body adjust for longer, but being this exhausted is affecting every aspect of [...]

Almost 3 months ago now, I had what most people would call a life changing experience. Being one that doesn’t know when enough is enough, I took advantage of the situation in a positive way. The day of the surgery, I gave up my 25+ year habit of Diet Coke in the morning. Roomie, since [...]
